Quick start
Six steps from sign-up to your first test run by the AI agent.
Note
Running tests uses credits. A run cannot start while your organization's credit balance is empty. See Credits.
1. Create your account
On the sign-up page, enter your first name, last name, email and password (twice), accept the Terms and Privacy Policy, then click Create account. You can also use Sign up with Google or Sign up with Microsoft.
- Passwords need at least 12 characters, with a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a digit and a symbol. Passwords known from public data breaches are refused.
- Email sign-ups must be verified before you can sign in. Open the link in the email within 24 hours. If it did not arrive, use Resend verification email.
- Google and Microsoft accounts are verified automatically.
2. Create or join an organization
Everything in Qalion lives in an organization. If you don't belong to one yet, Qalion offers two choices:
- Create organization: give it a name. You become its Owner.
- Join with invite code: paste the invitation token from your invitation email, then click Join organization. You can also open the link in the email and click Accept & join.
Tip
Invitations only reach people who already have a Qalion account. Sign up first, then ask an Owner of the organization to invite your email address.
3. Create a project with an environment
1
On the Dashboard, click Create your first project. Later, you can open the project switcher at the bottom of the sidebar, choose All projects… and click Create project.
2
Enter a Name and, if you like, a Description.
3
Under Environments, add at least one row with a name and a Base URL, for example
Staging and https://staging.example.com. You can't save until every environment row has both.Tip
Does your site need a cookie, a header or basic auth before it loads? Add it later as an Access entry in Materials → Configuration. Is it only reachable on your own machine or network? See Private apps.
4. Write a test case and set it Active
1
Click Test cases in the sidebar. A test case lives in a folder, so click Create folder first.
2
Select the folder and click New case. A case called "Untitled test case" opens in the editor. Type a title that says what the test verifies.
3
Add steps. Each step has an Action and an Expected result, for example: Action "Search for blue shoes", Expected result "A list of products appears".
4
Set Status to Active.
There is no Save button. The editor saves as you type and shows Saved in its header.
Warning
New cases start as Draft. Runs skip cases that are not Active, so set the status to Active before you run.
5. Run it
1
In the case editor, click Run. To run several cases, tick them in the list and click Run selected.
2
Pick the browser Profiles (for example Chrome) and the Environment, then click Run.
3
Qalion opens the new run, named "Quick run · …", and you watch the agent work live.
To run the same set of cases again and again, on several browsers, create a test plan. See Test plans.
6. Read the result
- Each execution ends Passed, Failed (the agent judged the app wrong) or Error (the agent could not reach a verdict, for example because the site was unreachable; this is not a failure of your app).
- Click an execution to open its evidence: Steps with screenshots and Expected / Observed, Agent, Console, Network and Video.
- Failures are grouped in Problems, and the Dashboard shows your pass rate.
Success
That's your first run. Next, invite your team (Organizations) and build a test plan you can schedule (Test plans).
