Private apps
The tunnel connector lets the AI agent test an app on your machine or your private network, without exposing it to the internet.
When you need it
The agent runs on Qalion's servers. Without a tunnel, it can't reach localhost or private network addresses. Run the small Qalion connector on a machine that can reach your app, and the agent's browser goes through it.
Set up the connector
1
Click Tunnel in the top bar. "Set up a local tunnel" opens.
2
1. Download the connector for Windows (x64), macOS (Intel or Apple silicon) or Linux (x64). You can check the download against the SHA-256 checksum shown.
3
2. Run it in a terminal: unzip it, then copy the command shown with Copy command and run it. The command includes your email and a token created for you.
4
Keep the connector running. The Tunnel button turns green once it connects.
Owners and Admins can create connector tokens.
Run tests through it
1
Give the environment the address you use on that machine or network, for example
http://localhost:3000, as its Base URL.2
Open the test plan and, in the launch bar, choose your connector in the Tunnel picker. It appears while a connector is running.
3
Click Run.
Security
- You start it and stop it. Close it and the connection is gone.
- Outbound only: the connector reaches out to Qalion, and nothing connects into your machine.
- It only opens connections to your own machine and local network. Public addresses are blocked by default.
- Every connection uses a token tied to you, valid for up to 90 days.
- It runs as a normal user, with no admin rights.
Manage connectors
Avatar menu → Settings → Tunnels lists the Active connectors with their owner, version, system and duration. Click Disconnect to stop one.
